Disappointing day! It started off badly with the ominous-looking grey(almost black) clouds gathering in the sky, accompanied by the distant rumble of the irritating thunder, all signaling that a heavy rain is imminent. *sighs* Of course, being the "suay" person that I am,the heavens poured out all it had,and the best training of the week had to be cancelled. Instead,we were stuck with boring cycling and eliptical machines...Bah!
In the afternoon,or rather the evening,Kenji and I went to recce Mount Pleasant cemetry, hoping it would turn out to be a spooky and suitable spot for our best and final(together with the year twos) night walk. There was a long long way in from the main road, which was overshadowed by the hanging trees, and the road was so narrow and difficult to walk on,so much so that we cannot walk side-by-side without one having to walk on the road and face the occasional oncoming cars. Still the atmosphere was pretty good-dark and quiet, except for the irregular calls from the passing birds, that sounded like cackles *grins*
After the long road,we finally turned in at Onreat Road,a rather overgrown little path with the signboard blocked by the bushes and trees that have crowded around it. In we went, and followed the road all the way. A few tombstones were all we saw,and they were all located far away from the road we were on,yet we pushed on,until the road disappointingly led us to the gates of the Police Academy. *sighs* So we then decided to walk along a path that was in the jungle surrounding us. I tell you,it's a path you never want to enter-muddy and insect pervaded. Yet so eager were we to find something that we entered. We emerged some 20 mins later, sweaty, filthy, disappointed, loss of at least 1 litre of blood and millions of mosquito and ant bites. Poor Kenji was wearing only slippers,so I with my track shoes shouldn't complain right? :p
Then we found another path ahead of Onreat Road:that was the correct entrance to the cemetry! What a waste, both of us were like,"Oh shit laaaa..." So in we went again, following the correct path this time and saw more tombstones. But overall, this was nothing much better than the first road: there were just more mosquito bites and boring tombstones. Bleah... We got out after a few pictures taken. That was all,so much for Mount Pleasant being a spooky place! I shouldn't have brought that pair of scissors then!
Ps. We hope we won't die from dengue, judging from the number of bites we both had, form the Andes mozzies with their trademark black and white stripes! Get well soon Kenji, don't go scratch those "little red spots"! :)
